Limited Warranty
Grand River Supply warrants that each door (except for those excluded by the manufacturer), for a period
of one (1) year from the date of shipment or pickup, is of good material and workmanship and free from
defects that would render such door useless or unfit for the ordinary recommended use. Failure to comply
with shipping, handling and finishing recommendations causing an unsatisfactory appearance of doors
cancels any warranty of the product. Immediately upon discovering a nonconformity send notice in writing
which describes the nonconformity to Grand River Supply This written warranty may be extinguished by
waiver. You waiver your rights under this written warranty if you install, treat, or receive and keep
for more than thirty (30) days a product which had a reasonably discoverable nonconformity, or if you
fail to make a claim under this written warranty within thirty (30) days after discovery of a hidden
nonconformity or after such hidden nonconformity should have reasonably been discovered.
If a door of Grand River Supply is found to have defects, the manufacturer's options are limited to:
- Repair defective door(s).
- Supply a replacement of the defective door(s). Note: Replacement doors are produced in the same condition
as the original door at time of purchase.
- Refund the current owner the amount the original purchaser paid the manufacturer, for the returned
door(s).
The manufacturer is not and cannot be responsible for the costs of freight, crating, taking down defective
door(s) or the hanging and finishing of the replacement door(s).
If the claimed nonconformity is warp, Grand River Supply may defer repairing or replacing the product
for a period of up to twelve (12) months from the date of claim or the date when the product was installed,
in order to permit conditioning and equalizing to humidity and temperature conditions. This deferral
period will not be counted against the one (1) year warranty period. In obvious cases of uncorrectable
warp, the door will be replaced immediately.
The warranty of warp beyond one-fourth of an inch in the plane of the door does not apply to the following:

Shipping & Handling Recommendations
All doors are shipped common carrier. The ”best“ carrier will be selected on the basis of rate and quality
service unless otherwise specified. All packages must be kept right side up. Visible damage of packages
must be noted on delivery receipt. All freight damage claims are the sole responsibility of the consignee.
- Open packages immediately upon receipt and check for any concealed damage. Door(s) should be stored
out of shipping container on a smooth, level and dry surface in a ventilated building. Door(s) should
remain flat and covered loosely (to allow for air circulation) to protect from sunlight. Do not store
standing on end. Door(s) must be finished thirty (30) days from receipt.
- Handle doors with clean gloves, and do not drag across one another or any other surface.
- Doors should not be subject to extreme or rapid changes in heat or humidity. Avoid sudden changes
such as forced heat to dry out a building. Deliver doors to building site only after plaster, texture
and/or cement is dry. If the doors are to be stored on the job site, all surfaces must be sealed with
an effective quality sealer in order to prevent undue moisture absorption. They should be conditioned
to average prevailing relative humidity of the locality before hanging.
- When hanging door, allow adequate clearances for swelling of door or frame in damp weather.
- Do not cut door down in width by more than one (1) inch (one half inch maximum each side). Use sharp
fine tooth saw for trimming ends of doors. Caution must be used to avoid impairing the strength of the
door when fitting hardware.
- Use three hinges on doors up to seven (7) feet in height, four hinges on larger doors. Hinges and
jambs must be set in a straight line, square and plumb in order to prevent distortion.
Finishing
- Hang door before finishing, then remove to finish properly.
- Make sure door is dry. Avoid finishing after damp weather or during periods of higher than average
humidity.
- Before applying the first coat of finish, sand the entire surface with 5/0 sandpaper. This is to remove
fingerprints and other handling marks. Clean door thoroughly after sanding with a cloth and remove all
dust and/or foreign materials. However, avoid using caustic or abrasive cleaners.
- All surfaces of door must be properly finished. The edges (top, bottom and sides) should be coated
with each and every coat of finish that is applied to the exterior surface of the door.
- Use a compatible sealer or primer on the first coat, then at least two more coats of a high quality
polyurethane, paint or lacquer. Sand lightly between coats.
- Exterior finishes must be used on all exterior door(s).
- Do not use water based finishes or penetrating oils, such as log oil, to seal and finish door(s).
